natural linen, wattle (Acacia longifolia) blossoms, gum acacia, eucalyptus branches

All along the side of the road, along the shoreline of the beach, the winter wattle blooms. The artist has harvested the yellow blossoms and used them to dye a large piece of fabric, which glows when the sun shines through it.

The artist acknowledges the old people, the Mumurimina who cared for the Country where she lives, and where this wattle grew; and the Muwinina, the old people who cared for the Country where this artwork was shown, between kunanyi and timtumili minanya. The Palawa / Pakana and Tasmanian Aboriginal Community continue to care for Country across lutruwita.
